How to Calculate Dosage in CBD Infused Cooking

Dosing CBD while cooking can be a confusing process. Our Creators Crystals are easy to use and once you have the calculations down, you’ll be infusing in no time! Start by using this guide:

  • 1 gram of creators crystals equals .035 ounces

  • 1 gram equals 1000 milligrams

  • 1 cup equals 8 ounces

  • 2 tablespoons equals 1 ounce

  • 6 teaspoons equals 1 ounce

For example, if using 1000mg in 8 ounces, then one tablespoon of your final product will be 62.5 milligrams of CBD. It is calculated this way:

1000mg divided by 8 ounces is 125mg per ounce. 

Since there is 2 tablespoons per ounce, than 125mg divided by 2 is 62.5mg

Therefore, 1000mg in 8 ounces equals 62.5mg per tablespoon

Or you can work backwards:

If you want 10mg per tablespoon and to have a cup of infused product, then you would add 160mg of CBD. It is calculated this way:

10mg per tablespoon multiplied by 2 equals 20mg per ounce

There are 8 ounces per cup, so 20mg multiplied by 8 equals 160mg of CBD

Now here comes the fun part: using your infused oil to make CBD products and foods to share and enjoy! Below are recipes we have compiled from online sources as well as our own experiences. You will need:

  • A large pot or saucepan

  • A large bowl

  • A sensitive kitchen scale

  • Measuring spoons

  • CBD isolate - Creators Crystals

  • Carrier oil of your choice

Double Boiling

Double boiling is an important step of any CBD recipe as it allows for more temperature control. In order to not degrade the CBD, it’s important to keep it under 300 degrees at all times. Double boiling is a process in which you take a bowl a little bigger than your pot and boil water under it. This allows for your ingredients to melt without the harsh heat of the burner. While you can just mix all the ingredients into a pot there is a chance it will get too hot. Double boiling makes it less likely for your CBD to become over cooked.


CBD Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup honey or sugar

  • CBD isolate

Weigh out desired dose of CBD with a sensitive kitchen scale (please refer to dosage guide), and add all the ingredients into the pot or double boiler. Keep on a low heat (below 300 degrees) until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Once thoroughly incorporated, remove from heat and let cool slightly. Pour the warm mixture into a mason jar and use within 2 weeks.

Enjoy in mixed drinks, to sweeten your coffee, or as a sugar substitute in baked goods (just remember to keep it below 300 degrees!)





CBD Infused Olive Oil

  • 8 ounces of olive oil

  • CBD isolate

Using a sensitive kitchen scale, measure out preferred dose of CBD (please refer to dosage guide). Then in a saucepan, or double boiler, heat olive oil on low and add in CBD isolate. Stir well to incorporate, then remove from heat. Once cooled it pour into a glass container. Be sure to shake before serving for even dosage. 

TIP: You can use any carrier oil of your choice in this recipe

CBD Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream

  • 2-4 tablespoons powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • CBD isolate

TIP: Chill your bowl and beaters for 15 minutes in the refrigerator, it will help the cream whip faster

First measure out preferred dose of CBD (please refer to dosage guide). Add all of the ingredients to chilled bowl and begin mixing on low speed, slowing increasing the speed. Keep mixing until stiff peaks begin to form. Enjoy on your favorite dessert or on some homemade hot chocolate.


CBD Mulled Apple Cider

  • 1 gallon apple cider

  • 1 tbsp allspice

  • 5 whole cloves

  • 3 cardamom pods

  • 4 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 star anise

  • 1 tbsp dried orange rind

  • 1 cup CBD simple syrup

Place all of the spices in a tea bag or tied up in a cheese cloth. Add all of the ingredients in a large pot or crockpot and heat on low for one to three hours (depending on how intense you want it to be spiced). Remove the bag of spices and stir before serving.





CBD Hazelnut Pesto

  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts

  • 2-3 cloves garlic

  • 2 cups packed fresh basil

  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan

  • 3/4 cup CBD infused olive oil

  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

TIP: Try substituting part of the basil with other fresh greens such as spinach and kale, or for the adventurous, try foraged greens such as nettle.

Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Add the hazelnuts and toast, shaking the pan often, until fragrant and lightly browned (roughly 8 minutes). Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. While the hazelnuts are cooling add the garlic to the pan with a little olive oil and cook slightly (this removes some of the bite from the garlic’s flavor). When the hazelnuts are cool enough to handle, roll the nuts in a kitchen towel to remove most of the skins. Then add all of the ingredients except the olive oil into a food processor and pulse until it is a course texture. While the food processor is running, slowly add the olive oil into the mix. Add salt and pepper to taste. 

Use as a salad dressing, as a garnish on winter soups, or tossed with your favorite pasta



CBD Avocado Ricotta Toast

  • Whole wheat or sourdough bread

  • Half of an avocado

  • 4 to 5 tablespoons Ricotta 

  • 1 tablespoon CBD infused olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Toast bread to toast to desired level of ‘done-ness.’ Then using a fork, mash the avocado and cover the entire surface of the bread. Add ricotta in dollops and drizzle with CBD infused olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste
